The cottage lies very close to the Manifold Way, a converted railway line which was closed in 1934 and the trail now makes a wonderful 8 mile route for walkers, cyclists and riders through the stunning White Peak countryside. Above the track you'll dicover Thor's cave - its huge arched entrance easily visible (and quite accessible) from the footpath below.

Haddon is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful medieval manor houses in the whole of England, and rightly so. It’s an absolute must-see for any visitor to the Peak District.
Haddon has featured in the works of countless artists and writers through the centuries. More recently it has also been a favourite location for film-makers, featuring in Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth,
The Princess Bride and The Other Boleyn Girl.

The bridge across the river has five Gothic arches and is one of the oldest bridges in England dating from 1300.
Buxton
As the Gateway to the Peak District, the historic spa town of Buxton should feature in the itinerary of every visitor. It has something for everyone, with stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, beautiful parks, quirky shops, top-class theatre, and fantastic dining.
Shopping
The nearby town of Leek is famous for it's wonderful array of antique and independent shops. There is a hugely popular craft and collectors market every Saturday with stalls selling antiques, collectables, memorabilia, garden accessories, jewellery, books and much more.
Our freshly made bread comes from the artisan bakers in the town and it has a thriving art scene and numerous coffee shops, bars and restaurants
